Order pickers
Order pickers are designed to handle individual items or cases, while turret trucks and reach trucks are for handling palletized loads. Order pickers are also sometimes known as order selectors or stock pickers. The equipment includes a platform on which the operator stands. The order picker lifts the operator along with the forks so that he or she could pick items from the shelves and put them onto a pallet on the forks. The machine moves forward whilst in an elevated position. Wire guidance systems are offered.
Order Picker
Order pickers are available with certain fork size, lift and travel speeds and weight and reach limitations. Nearly all have a fork size designed to load a standard pallet, no more than about one and a half meters in length. The higher lift and travel speed helps increase productivity, but training is truly essential to prevent accidents. Personnel should be trained on the particular type of unit they would be utilizing.
Low Lift Pallet Jacks
Non-powered pallet trucks
Non-powered pallet trucks are a less expensive alternative. These simple lift trucks are also referred to as hand pallet trucks and hand pallet jacks. These types of trucks make use of a hydraulic device in order to lift pallets just a few centimeters above the floor. The individual operating it pulls the load using the truck handle.
Electric-powered pallet trucks
Electric-powered pallet trucks are quite cheap and made for easy maneuvering. The fork size could hold two or three pallets. These trucks are available in two kinds: the "rider" includes a platform wherein the operator rides in a standing position; the "walkie" type is meant to be operated whilst the operator walks alongside. These trucks are usually found in warehouses, with operators order picking whilst moving down the aisles. Both non-powered and powered pallet trucks are categorized as ITA Class 3.
